1300KOALAZ are the largest group of experienced dedicated volunteer koala carers and rescuers in South Australia.
We rescue, rehabilitate and release wild koalaz in South Australia.
1300KOALAZ supports those who are affected by recent bushfires to regenerate the bushfire zone through donations of native vegetation to re-establish lost koala habitat in South Australia

#1300KOALAZ' Harriet is doing so well.
After some intensive treatment she is back with her carer.
She is eating well, her poop output is up and she is taking her medicine like a big girl.
Harriet is an older mum at around 10 years old but obviously an old hand at the joey raising.
Had she not been spotted with the nasty wound and infection in her elbow both she and her joey may not have survived, so thank you to the member of public who called her in, not one but two lives saved.
We will keep you posted on how they are going.

Harriet was spotted with a nasty wound on her elbow so of course our team got to work and retrieved her from the tree in which she had decided to take a nap in.
Off she went for a check up and is currently an in patient receiving intensive treatment on her infected elbow.
Now, if you look carefully you will notice a little surprise that Harriet was hiding away.
We need all the best wishes you can muster for Harriet to get better.......it's not just one life but two at stake so keep everything crossed.

Princess Tina Turner or Princess TT as I will call her was hit by a car up in the hills.
Despite a concerted effort to rescue her on Friday night it was not until the following day the rescue could be completed.
Princess TT led our rescuer a merry dance and despite being out early yesterday morning to attempt the rescue it was not until mid afternoon that our intrepid rescuer could finally get her down with a little help from some friends.
A huge thankyou to the Jungle Brothers and the Mount Barker SES for helping with the rescue.
Sometimes rescues take time and patience to be able to accomplish as koalas, despite horrific injuries, will still climb high in a tree. Higher than sometimes we can reach even with 10m poles or in a place we are unable to use cherry pickers.
Without the Jungle Brothers Tree Services and the Mount Barker SES we may not have managed to get her down.
But, rescued she was and went off to the vet. Happily she has no broken bones and will receive another check over once she has settled in.

#1300KOALAZ' Sir Nic has been having a high old time (no pun intended) in the gunyah.
He has been the lord of all he surveys, even if he can't get out of the gunyah to bee in it.
But when his carer comes to visit all that is forgotten and he becomes a bit of a sook and bellows out to her. It's difficult to hear but you can see the classic bellowing pose with his head thrown back.
